I decided to recreate this beautiful drawing I made in 2007 when I was 5. I designed, created the pattern for, and sewed the dress featured in the drawing to pay homage to my younger self.

The piece is entitled, "a simpler time" because as a child I was never afraid of what people would think of my artwork and I felt free to draw whatever I wanted, however I wanted. Things have changed since then and I now feel intimidated by a blank canvas, worried about not only the judgements of others but also of my own. I wanted to give my younger self a shoutout by bringing to life a beautiful drawing from 2007.
